"Sher's words are those of a woman who loves life, a woman who in her wisdom years knows how to fully embrace and express her playfulness, sensuality, and no-holds-barred honesty, acute observation, and love without judgment. John's music interweaves an excitement, a rhythm of life and spirit, that infuses and expands the meaning and expressiveness of Sher's poetry. Together they dance with love, fun, and a wild and wonderful creativity. Their music and poetry embrace us and infuse us with how special life and relationship can be." Kay Hogan, Educator
The Miracle of My Life
I ache and sunshine lights my home.
I despair and awareness coaxes me toward other choices.
I complain at unfairness and failure while opportunities for learning abound.
I yearn for more, yet my cupboards burst with belongings.
I resent unkindness while loving compassion
beats against the inner walls of my heart.
I grieve for mistakes and losses
and the miracle of my life shines like a Christmas tree, twinkling.
I yearn for something different
and the moment contains a fullness of grace and wonder
that waits to be received.

This poem flew to me a December afternoon of 1999 during the pain of a tailbone injury. I hurried to the computer so I could type the words that came like
children to presents on Christmas morning. Sher Christian
